On 6 April 2023, the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation hosted a briefing withNatalia Stepkina, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the SCO Secretariat, on the results of the March 2023 state visit of President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping to Russia. Permanent representatives of SCO member states and diplomats from SCO observer countries (the Republic of Belarus, the Islamic Republic of Iran and Mongolia) attended the event.

Following the briefing, SCO Deputy Secretary-General Nurlan Yermekbayev updated permanent representatives of SCO member states on topical issues of the Organisation's current activities.
