On 5 June 2023, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Ambassador Zhang Ming met with His Excellency Hassan Rabehi, Ambassador of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria to the People's Republic of China at the SCO Secretariat in Beijing. 

During the meeting, Ambassador Rabehi spoke highly of the founding principles of the SCO and its achievements over the past two decades. On his part, Secretary-General Zhang Ming elaborated upon the development trajectory, working structure, major areas of cooperation of the Organization and upon request also explained the process of expansion of SCO.
