The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Teenagers' Sports and Culture Festival (Fujian Zone) kicked off at the Haixia Olympic Sports Center in Fuzhou, East China's Fujian province, on December 16. This event, featuring vibrant performances and exciting tennis matches, provides a new platform for SCO people-to-people and cultural exchanges among teenagers.
Since July this year, the event organizers have hosted a series of sports and cultural exchange activities, including tennis matches, to promote communication and friendship among teenagers across the country. The events have fostered mutual understanding and contributed to the development of the sports and cultural landscape.
Teenagers, the most creative and energetic members of society, constitute a dynamic force in the Belt and Road cooperation. The progress of the era is closely linked to their growth. The event is expected to allow teenagers from various countries to enhance exchanges and broaden international friendships, inject new vitality into the high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, and showcase their vitality and wisdom in the practice of building a community with a shared future for mankind.
The opening ceremony opened with a diverse array of artistic performances. Traditional cultural programs such as Fujian Opera, WingTsun martial arts, and light dance immersed the audience in a strong atmosphere of traditional culture and offered a view of profound Chinese civilization.
Following the opening ceremony, the National Youth Tennis Ranking CTJ-100 Points Tournament and the Yunxing Universe Year-End Finals, featuring many outstanding young players, were held.
Looking ahead, Fujian will take the opportunity of Belt and Road cooperation, focus on sports and cultural exchanges and explore new ideas for the development of people-to-people diplomacy, with a sincere hope that the SCO Teenagers’ Sports and Culture Festival could serve as a bridge for young people worldwide to strengthen cultural exchanges, deepen friendship, and advance mutual development.
