The National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) dispatched a team to survey the promotion of high-quality population development in South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region from Jan 11 to 14.
The team, headed by Shen Yueyue, vice-chairwoman of the CPPCC National Committee, visited villages, residents' committees, hospitals, township healthcare centers, and elderly care and childcare institutions in the cities of Nanning and Hechi, to gain a detailed understanding of the local situation.
At a symposium held during the survey, the team called for the further study and implementation of the CPC Central Committee's decisions, plans and principles on high-quality population development in the new era. It urged local CPPCC members to actively publicize the Party's population policy, and help build consensus and create a favorable atmosphere for high-quality population development. The team members also stressed the importance of giving play to the main role of CPPCC members, strengthening the collaborative linkage mechanism and conducting in-depth research to identify real problems and provide suggestions with practical countermeasures, in a bid to support the Chinese path to modernization with high-quality population development.
The team also listened to the opinions and suggestions of local CPPCC members and officials from relevant departments on the promotion of ecological civilization and the development of green and low-carbon industries, pooling wisdom for the building of a Beautiful China.
