SCO Secretary-General expresses his condolences in connection with the terrorist act in the Republic of Dagestan.
On 24 June, SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming sent a message to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, in which he expressed his deep and sincere condolences in connection with the terrorist attacks in the Republic of Dagestan that killed a priest, police officers and civilians, including children.He noted that he was shocked by the news of this incident and the attacks on churches and a synagogue in Makhachkala and Derbent, which took place on the Orthodox holiday of Holy Trinity.He emphasised that there can be no justification for terrorism. "The uncompromising fight against the three forces of evil – terrorism, separatism and extremism – is one of the priority areas of the SCO's activities, which will keep on pushing hard for eradicating such criminal phenomena,” he said.
