Cui Li, vice-president of the Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation Commission (GNFCC) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), delivered a speech at the closing ceremony of the 2025 International Medical Innovation and Cooperation Forum in Fangchenggang, South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, on April 29.
Extending congratulations on the forum's successful conclusion, Cui noted that the event, themed "Medical Innovation and Sharing for Sustainable Development of Health", has further consolidated international consensus on building a health community within the SCO framework, advanced the establishment of a platform for international medical innovation and cooperation, and gathered the strength of the SCO to promote medical innovation cooperation.
Cui expressed her expectation to work with all parties to transform shared ideas into concrete actions, effectively deepen cooperation in health innovation, promote the establishment of more stable and long-term cooperation mechanisms and platforms, and facilitate the transformation and application of medical innovation achievements. She highlighted the forum's critical role as a platform to pool joint efforts for safeguarding the health and well-being of the people of SCO countries.
Cui affirmed the GNFCC's commitment to upholding the "Shanghai Spirit", leveraging its unique strengths as a social organization for promoting people-to-people diplomacy, and taking proactive actions to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with all parties, in a bid to contribute to the building of a global community of health for all and the sustainable development of global health.
In addition, the "2025 International Medical Innovation and Cooperation Forum Initiative" was released at the ceremony. Liao Pinhu, vice-chairman of the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous regional government, briefed on the forum's achievements, while Qiu Minghong, mayor of Fangchenggang, presided over the closing ceremony.
