Briefing on the results of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Tianjin Summit

On Jan 14, 2026, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of China held a briefing in Beijing on the results of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in Tianjin.

The event was attended by Deputy Director of the Department of Europe and Central Asia of China's MFA Mao Wenchong, representatives of government agencies of China, diplomatic missions of the SCO community and the SCO Secretariat.

Mao reported on the implementation by the Chinese side of important initiatives put forward by Chinese President Xi Jinping at the SCO Tianjin Summit from Aug 31 to Sept 1, 2025. The participants were informed about the work of the three main China–SCO cooperation platforms in the fields of energy, green industry and the digital economy, as well as three cooperation centers in the fields of technological innovation, higher education and vocational education. It was emphasized that the Chinese side looks forward to further deepening practical ties and coordination with all other countries of the SCO community, as well as searching for new areas of mutually beneficial cooperation and implementing joint projects.
